The Creand Andorra Open, organised by Tennium, will bring the best international tennis to the Principality: the second WTA 125 and one of only 30 tournaments in this category worldwide. The competition will take place from 27 November to 3 December at the Polideportiu d’Andorra.

The start of the quarter-final day has begun with the withdrawal of Jessika Ponchet, who has caused Britain’s Heather Watson to go straight through to the singles semi-finals and the doubles final.

In the second match of the day, rising star and Wild Card Ella Seidel lost to Erika Andreeva 6-4 7-5.

The surprise of the day was the defeat of second seed Clara Tauson of Denmark. France’s Alizé Cornet, a former world number 11, easily beat her in two sets 6-3 6-4.

In the last match of the day, Marina Bassols managed to turn the score around in the second set. The Spaniard, a member of the Spanish tennis team, eliminated the veteran Anastasija Sevastova, former world number 11, 2-6 7-6(4) 6-4.

In the doubles, the duo of Andreeva and Celine Naef have advanced to the final after beating Falkowska and Kawa 6-4 3-6 10-8.
